This is my series of three that I threw on the wheel. The top left is my cylinder, the top right is my bowl, and the bottom right is my experimental piece. for my cylinder, I squeezed in the middle and repeatedly smoothed it out in order to get it to look like that. The elements of design I used were shape, balance and will eventually use color. I made all of my pieces symmetrical so that they had an even balance. All of them are rounded and curved so that they could follow a similar theme as well. Once I glaze them, they will all consist of black and white and decorated similarly, but not the same. When I was working on the wheel, I tried to make each of the pieces symmetrical so that they looked the same the whole way around. I wanted all of them to be similar in some way, so rounding all of them connect them to one another. Once I glaze, I will mimic artist Sarah Cihat by painting my pieces black and white. I was inspired by her to make my bowl more flat. I really like my pieces after all. The throwing process took me a while to get ahold of, but once I finally did, it was a lot of fun. It took my about two weeks to center, but once I was taught it became really easy for me. I made all my pieces in the last week.
